‘Could disrupt public order’

The ministry of information and broadcasting on Monday blocked 45 YouTube videos from 10 channels for spreading “misinformation, hate speech, and communal hatred.”.
The content of the videos included fake news and morphed videos spread with the intent to spread hatred among religious communities.
“The content was observed to be false and sensitive from the perspective of national security and India’s friendly relations with foreign states,” it added.
The content was covered within the ambit of section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
