The All India Bar Association (AIBA), which on September 23 called upon the government of India to ban the Popular Front of India (PFI), has welcomed the ban issued by a central gazette on Wednesday.

The government has also banned PFI’s affiliates and frontal organisations such as Rehab India Foundation (RIF), Campus Front of India (CFI), All India Imams Council (AIIC), National Confederation of Human Rights Organization (NCHRO), National Women’s Front, Junior Front, Empower India Foundation and Rehab Foundation, Kerala.
It is a surgical strike to ensure national integration and unity, Aggarwala said in the statement.
