JAMMU: Security forces on Monday claimed to have busted a terrorist hideout in the general area of Hadwagan in J&K’s Ramban district and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition. The recovery included 35 AK-47 rounds, seven PIKA ammunition (rusted), seven 9mm rounds (rusted), two AK-47 magazines (rusted), explosive-type material, one UBG launcher (rusted), one radio set and other materials.
Ramban SSP Mohita Sharma said that on July 17, information was received through reliable sources regarding the presence of arms and ammunition in the forest area of Hadwagan, following which a joint search operation was launched by J&K Police and Rashtriya Rifles, and suspected hideout locations were searched. “The search operation was carried out in treacherous terrain till late in the evening, during which security forces busted a terrorist hideout and recovered arms and ammunition,” she said.
