IND vs BAN: “Virat Kohli Will Definitely Send Something To Litton Das Because Very Few Times Such Catches Are Dropped In International Cricket” – Ajit Agarkar

India beat Bangladesh by 227 runs in the third and final ODI of the three-match series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Saturday, December 10. The Bangladesh captain dropped a simple catch when Virat Kohli was at 1, and former Indian pacer Ajit Agarkar said that Virat Kohli would be giving Litton Das a gift for dropping his catch.

Virat Kohli came to the crease with only 15 runs on the board after Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed for 3 runs by Mehidy Hasan. Kohli and Kishan put on a match-winning 290-run stand and the latter was the aggressor, smashing bowlers across the park, while the former played second fiddle to him. Kishan scored a stunning double-century of 210 runs off 131 balls, while Kohli scored 113 runs off 91 deliveries, his first ODI century since August 2019.

Ishan Kishan Had Removed The Pressure From Him – Ajit Agarkar

During a discussion on Sony Sports, Agarkar stated that the former Indian captain’s confidence grew as his innings progressed, with Kishan’s explosive knock helping his cause.

“I think Ishan Kishan’s innings helped him a lot. He will definitely send something to Litton Das because very few times such catches are dropped in international cricket, but you also have to remember that he took a brilliant catch in the first game.”

“He could take his time today. An early wicket had fallen, so he had the time. The pitch kept on improving. The fluency came in later, there is no doubt that it was a struggle at the start, but Ishan Kishan had removed the pressure from him.”

Virat Kohli Will Be Relieved – Ajit Agarkar

Agarkar believes that Virat Kohli will be relieved to end his ODI century drought. The former fast bowler said that he has had good starts in recent times but has not been able to convert them into big scores, like he has done in the past.

“He will be relieved, not only because he scored runs but that he scored a century as quite a few times it has happened recently that he has gotten off to starts, and generally in his career he used to score big when he got off to starts, but it was not happening.”

Former India captain Virat Kohli got the monkey off his back in ODIs by smashing his first century in the 50-over format in 25 innings after 1214 days. His last ODI century came in 2019, when India toured the West Indies after the ODI World Cup.
