Best NFL DFS Picks for Sunday: Chiefs vs. Texans- December 18 | 2022 NFL Regular Season

The Kansas City Chiefs travel to face the Houston Texans in a battle of teams on the opposite side of the NFL spectrum. The Kansas City Chiefs are battling for the #1 seed in the AFC, while the Houston Texans continue towards the #1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Can the Texans remain competitive?

Best quarterback picks, Chiefs vs. Texans

Cash Games: Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City Chiefs (DraftKings $8.1K, FanDuel $9.1K)

Patrick Mahomes should have a field day against the Houston Texans on Sunday. Can the Texans stay in this game long enough for Patrick Mahomes to reach his ceiling? If so, giddy up!

Tournaments: Davis Mills, QB, Houston Texans (Draftkings $5K, FanDuel $6.3K)

Who wants to play Davis Mills in a DFS lineup when Patrick Mahomes is on the opposite sideline? Anyone? I didn’t think so. If you wish to gain the ultimate leverage against the opposition, you only live once.

Best running back picks

Cash Games: Isiah Pacheco, RB, Kansas City (DraftKings $5.9K, FanDuel $7.6K)

Isiah Pacheco provides some explosiveness to Kansas City’s running attack. Pacheco doesn’t go down on first contact and keeps the defense honest. The Houston Texans are the worst in the NFL at defending the RB position. Look for Isiah Pacheco to get more work than usual in this one.

Tournament: Rex Burkhead, RB, Houston (DraftKings $4.6K, FanDuel $4.8K)

Dameon Pierce has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. The Texans must figure something out at the RB position. Rex Burkhead is a veteran, and the Texans trust him as a pass-catcher and a pass-blocker. Burkhead isn’t an exciting play, but the game script may call for plenty of garbage-time receptions for the veteran back.

Wide receivers and tight ends

Cash Games: Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs (DraftKings $7.8K, FanDuel $8K)

Travis Kelce is one of, if not the most reliable DFS options regardless of position. The Texans do a great job defending the WR position. Look for the Chiefs to get Travis Kelce involved early and often in this one.

Tournament: Chris Moore, WR, Houston Texans (DraftKings $4.2K, FanDuel $6K)

Chris Moore is the only game in town for the Houston Texans. Brandin Cooks and Nico Collins are out, while Dameon Pierce is out for the regular season. What are the Houston Texans going to do? Davis Mills will have to throw the football, and his only remaining target of note is Chris Moore. Don’t discount Moore as he shinned against the Dallas Cowboys.
